Morning forecast
Who wants your data today, as simple as a weather report.
Resale warning
A storm alert when your data is about to change hands.
Umbrella mode
Block the trades for a day, at a small cost in convenience.
Privacy policies replaced by a weather report: a morning forecast of who wants your data, and what you can do about it.
The provocation
Nobody reads privacy policies, but everybody checks the weather. Consent Weather turns the invisible trade in personal data into something you can feel before you leave the house.
How it would work
Every morning you get a forecast: a 64 percent chance your location will be resold, a storm of ad auctions around lunchtime, clear skies after 9 pm. You can open an umbrella, a mode that blocks the trades, at a small cost in convenience.
The question
If we could see the climate of our data, would we change our behaviour, or simply get used to the rain?
